The Department of Automobiles and Automobile Economy is a basic structural subdivision of the Faculty of Combat Use of Forces, which carries out educational, methodological, educational work, scientific, scientific, technical and innovative activities.
Educational, methodological, educational work, scientific, scientific, technical and innovative activities are organized and carried out in accordance with the requirements of the current legislation of Ukraine, regulations of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
The main tasks of the department are:
- carrying out educational, methodological, scientific and scientific-technical activities at a high organizational and professional level in accordance with the requirements of orders and instructions of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Chief of the General Staff - Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Chief of the National Army Academy;
- continuous improvement of the content and quality of education of cadets (students) through timely response to changes in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, military art, experience of the use of the Armed Forces in modern armed conflicts, including the anti-terrorist operation in the east of our country, the Joint Forces Operation and in the current conditions of large-scale invasion and armed aggression of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine;
- improving the educational and material base of the department.

The department occupies the ground floor of academic building No. 4 and includes 7 specialized classrooms, an information systems classroom, the office of the head of the department, a teaching room, a training room, and pavilion No. 1. 
The Department of Automobiles and Automobile Economy is a basic structural unit where cadets of all specialties gain knowledge of the structure of the main models of military automotive equipment (BOGDAN-2351 passenger car, GAZ-66, ZIL-131, Ural-4320, KrAZ-260 (6322, 5233), MAZ-543, BAZ-5921, MT-LB), develop practical skills in their maintenance and repair, including the use of mobile means of maintenance, repair and evacuation (workshop for checking power supply systems MESP-AT, workshop for technical assistance MTP-1).
Today, the department has 19 positions, of which 8 are academic staff and 11 are teaching and support staff.
The specific feature of the department's activity is that it is the basic one for training military personnel on contract who receive basic higher education in the specialty 274 “Road Transport” in part-time education. In the course of their studies, part-time cadets acquire knowledge that will allow them to work in engineering positions after completing their service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, solving issues of organization and management in road transport, and managing the processes of maintenance and repair of motor vehicles.
The tasks of the department are fulfilled through the integration of training and practice, the full and effective application of all elements of the educational process, taking into account the capabilities of modern information technologies.
