Information for applicants
The Hetman Petro Sahaidachny National Army Academy is the leading military higher education institution of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, located in Lviv. The Academy has a long-standing tradition of military education dating back to the late 19th century, and has held national status since 2015.
The National Academy of the Armed Forces trains commanding officers for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The program lasts four years and leads to a bachelor’s degree. Upon graduation, cadets are commissioned as second lieutenants and are guaranteed officer assignments based on their academic performance.
The training program combines theoretical instruction with intensive practical training focused on the real-world conditions of modern warfare. The educational process is led by instructors with combat experience and makes use of modern training facilities, training grounds, training aids, and simulators.
- The Infantry Institute trains tactical-level unit commanders. Cadets learn how to command units, plan and conduct combat operations, and operate modern weapons, UAVs, electronic warfare systems, and robotic systems. Graduates are assigned to positions as platoon and company commanders and their deputies.
- The Institute of Rocket Forces and Artillery trains officers in fire planning and control. The training includes artillery and missile reconnaissance, fire control, and the use of UAVs, automated systems, and counter-battery warfare assets. Graduates serve in command and staff positions in artillery and missile units.
- The Institute of Psychological Support for Personnel trains officers in psychological support for personnel. Cadets study psychological support for service members, combat stress management, and personnel and mobilization work. Graduates are assigned to positions as psychological support officers and personnel officers.
- The Institute of Engineering Troops trains engineering officers to provide engineering support to troops, conduct mine clearance, construct fortifications, and operate modern technical and robotic equipment. Graduates are assigned to positions as commanders of engineering units and heads of engineering services.
- The Military College for Non-Commissioned Officers trains professional non-commissioned officers for units of the Army, Logistics Forces, and Support Forces. The training focuses on practical skills, leadership, and personnel management. Graduates serve in sergeant positions in combat, technical, and logistical support units.
1. Who is eligible to become a cadet?
- High school/college graduates and military personnel (up to age 30).
- Education: high school diploma or college degree.
- Medical fitness and NMT results.
2. Six steps to apply:
- TCK: Contact the Regional TCK and Customs Office and the State TCK Service at your place of registration to file a claim.
- Medical Examination Board: Undergo a medical examination and a vocational and psychological assessment at the Regional Training Center and the Specialized Unit.
- Invitation: Get an invitation to participate in the contest.
- Admission: Arrive at the National Academy of Security Services. Submit original academic transcripts and ZNO/NMT scores, or take the entrance exams. Pass physical and psychological evaluations, as well as a final medical examination..
- Exams: Come to the Academy for the final assessment (physical fitness + medical exam).
- Enrollment: Check the enrollment list to see if you've been accepted and begin your journey toward becoming an officer or a professional sergeant.
