
The Department of Driving Combat Vehicles and Automobiles occupies a leading position in the system of training military specialists and belongs to the departments of military-technical direction. The motto of the department is “Semper in motu (Always on the move). Thanks to the modern training facilities available at the department, cadets are trained in the following disciplines: Driving Combat Vehicles, Driving Basic Vehicles, Automotive Technology (including Automotive Training), and the department also participates in the training of military specialists in the disciplines of Road Safety. The main goal of the department is to teach cadets to drive vehicles safely in various terrain, weather and visibility conditions; to fully utilize the combat and technical capabilities of vehicles in solving problems in modern conditions of military use; to develop cadets' will, determination, courage, independence and initiative; to instill in them confidence in the combat and technical capabilities of vehicles and a sense of responsibility for their safety and constant combat readiness. The department participates in the training of specialists of all specialties and specializations and maintains close cooperation with the structural units of the National Army Academy and with scientific institutions of our country. The department is actively involved in international military cooperation. It regularly receives delegations from around the world (USA, Canada, Republic of France, Federal Republic of Germany, Republic of Poland, Baltic States, Republic of Turkey, Ethiopia, etc.) Today, the department actively implements into the educational process the experience gained by the scientific and pedagogical staff of the department while performing their assigned tasks in the area of the Joint Forces Operation (anti-terrorist operation).

The department is one of the best in the National Academy in terms of the quality of the organization of the educational process, among the achievements of the department are prizes for the quarterly and annual results of the university.
