
The research and scientific papers developed at the Department of Tactics are aimed at solving the following tasks: improving the educational process, increasing the efficiency of commanders and staffs, units and subdivisions during the preparation and conduct of combat operations, solving certain problems related to the construction of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Areas of research conducted by the department:
- development of forms and methods of warfare in modern conditions;
- peculiarities of military art in wars and armed conflicts of the second half of the twentieth and early twenty-first century;
- general trends in the use of forces and means in the ATO ;
- development of military communications and telecommunication systems.
The Department of Tactics always adheres to the principle of unity of educational and scientific components of training and education of military specialists.
To this end, the highest-category research and teaching staff are involved in teaching academic disciplines, namely:

The military scientific work of cadets is a separate type of scientific and technical activity conducted in higher military educational institutions under the guidance of scientific and scientific-pedagogical staff.
The purpose of the scientific work of cadets at the Department of Tactics is to gradually improve methodological training, harmonious development of scientific thinking, acquisition of practical research skills, creative approach to solving problems of use and operation of weapons and military equipment, studying the basics of organization and conduct of scientific and theoretical research.
The military-scientific work of cadets at the department is organized and coordinated in accordance with the following regulatory documents:
- Law of Ukraine No. 1556-VII “On Higher Education” as amended on July 16, 2021;
- Order of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine “On Approval of the Regulation on the Peculiarities of Organizing Educational Activities in Higher Military Educational Institutions of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and Military Educational Units of Higher Education Institutions” of 9.01.2020 No. 4;
- Order of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine “On Approval of the Regulation on the Organization of Scientific and Scientific and Technical Activities in the Armed Forces of Ukraine” of 27.07.2016, No. 385;
- Regulations on scientific work of cadets (students) of the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Army Academy;
- Order of the Chief of the National Army Academy named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi “On the organization of work of military scientific societies of cadets of the National Army Academy named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi”.
The main areas of research activity of the cadets of the military science club of the Department of Tactics are:
- in-depth study of the disciplines studied at the department;
- mastering the modern methods and skills of conducting independent research and development of military-scientific topics with the wide use of mathematical modeling; the need to constantly update and improve their knowledge;
- expanding the theoretical outlook and scientific erudition of the future officer;
- studying the best military practices of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the armed forces of the world's leading countries;
- Identification of a reserve for training of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel from among gifted, capable cadets (students) who have successfully completed the curriculum and program.
During the academic year, the following classes are held with the cadets of the military science club of the department:
- lecture on “Directions and main forms of scientific work of cadets (students)";
- practical classes in the library of the National Academy on the following topics:
“Working with the systematic and alphabetical catalog of the Academy's library”;
“Working with the general catalog of the Academy's library”.
In the course of the above-mentioned classes, the cadets, under the guidance of librarians, visit library premises, familiarize themselves with the procedure for working with different types of catalogs. After that, under the guidance of the head of the group, they personally search for the literature they need to write a research paper; - a practical lesson on the topic “The procedure for collecting scientific information from the world wide web”.
During this lesson, the peculiarities and subtleties of obtaining and recording information from the Internet were explained to the cadets; - group classes on the following topics: “Requirements for the bibliographic description in the list of references: books“; ‘Requirements for the bibliographic description in the list of references: periodicals and electronic resources’; ‘Options for the design of the list of references and links in accordance with it’; ‘Features of writing the ’Introduction” and “Conclusions” to the scientific work. Determining their relationship”; ”The main sections of a scientific work, requirements for their content and design”.
During these classes, the head of the group teaches them how to create a bibliography not only by theoretically proving the material, but, above all, by practically transferring the characteristics of publications to the bibliography. The students are explained the procedure for formatting and placing the material of a research paper in a logical sequence in compliance with the basic requirements for this type of scientific product.
The main results of the scientific work of cadets are: - participation of cadets in national and international competitions and scientific events; - improvement of the quality of cadets' research papers (abstracts), scientific articles, etc.; - implementation of the results of cadets' scientific work in the educational process of the departments. |
