The classrooms of the Tactics Department provide training for cadets of all specialties and specializations of the National Academy.
Considerable attention is paid to the introduction of NATO-standard decision-making procedures in the educational process of cadets and students of the National Academy.
The Department of Tactics is a graduating department for the specializations “Management of actions of mechanized troops” and “Management of actions of tank troops”, which additionally take the following disciplines:
“Management of actions of mechanized units”;
“Management of actions of tank units”.

In the classrooms of the Tactics Department, cadets of all specialties and specializations of the National Academy are trained in the following disciplines:
“General tactics”;
“Organization of Military Communications.
The logical continuation of the theoretical part of the training is the annual advanced training courses, which are attended by both teachers and graduate cadets.
In addition to teaching cadets, the staff of the Tactics Department is involved in conducting classes with students of advanced training courses:
Officer leadership courses; advanced training courses for officers appointed (enrolled in the personnel reserve for appointment) to the positions of commanders of mechanized and tank companies and their equals
advanced training courses for officers of mechanized military units and subdivisions of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
courses for servicemen and women with higher education who are serving in the military under conscription during mobilization, etc.
The Department of Tactics ensures high quality training of military specialists. Graduates with solid knowledge, leadership skills, and a broad outlook are in demand not only by customers in the Armed Forces, but also by representatives of other law enforcement agencies of Ukraine. High performance in cadets' education is achieved through high-quality theoretical and practical humanitarian training with a high cultural level and systematic educational work.
The high quality of training is achieved due to the stable composition of the academic staff. All the teachers of the Department have specialized basic education, possess a wide range of knowledge and skills, and are constantly engaged in professional development, self-education and self-improvement.

Today, the Department of Tactics is one of the largest teams of the National Army Academy. The department has 11 academic staff with academic degrees (doctors and candidates of sciences). Almost all officers of the department took part in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) in eastern Ukraine. Currently, officers of the department are participating in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
