Teaching is the main activity of the department. To ensure the quality of the educational process, the department is constantly working on the introduction of innovative teaching technologies, in particular, the capabilities of computer systems, training and test programs, electronic textbooks, and educational films are widely used.

Academic disciplines are taught by experienced academic staff with experience in combat operations, including five PhDs.
All academic disciplines, without exception, are taught in specialized classrooms that meet modern requirements and make it possible to use the department's educational and material base as efficiently as possible.

For training and self-study, samples of armored weapons and equipment for various purposes, including foreign-made samples received from partner countries, training and laboratory facilities (laboratory equipment, measuring and computer equipment, technical training aids), specialized classrooms, training and material facilities of the 184th training center, textbooks and manuals, scientific and reference literature, regulatory, normative and technical documents and teaching aids are widely used. |

| The staff of the department has developed a training course for self-study of armored weapons and equipment on the platform of the MOODLE system. The developed course provides round-the-clock access to the educational material on the selected sample. It allows to expand the cadet's spatial understanding of the location of equipment, components and assemblies in the vehicle; to independently master basic knowledge of the structure of the vehicle and its components, technical characteristics of the vehicle's systems and the basics of its operation. |  |
