The scientific activity of the Faculty of Combat (Operational) Support Specialists is carried out in accordance with the current legislation and other guiding documents.
The faculty constantly conducts fundamental, search and applied research in the priority areas of scientific and technological progress, theory and practice of construction and use of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, improving their combat capability, creating new models of weapons and military equipment, researching current issues of military education.
Preparation and publication of monographs, textbooks and other scientific and methodological materials of practical importance for improving the training of cadets, expanding the fund of basic educational literature is organized.
The priority research areas of the faculty are:
- justification of the structure and number of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, composition and ratio of their branches, services;
- development of military education, personnel policy;
- development of forms and methods of training and employment of troops (forces), improvement of operational (combat) support of their actions;
- development of weapons and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, special forces.
The military scientific work of cadets at the Faculty of Combat (Operational) Support Specialists occupies one of the most important places. Its purpose is to progressively improve methodological training, harmonious development of scientific thinking, acquisition of practical research skills, creative approach to solving problems of use and operation of weapons and military equipment, studying the basics of organizing and conducting scientific and theoretical research.
The structure of the faculty includes a research laboratory (emergency analysis and forecasting), which was established on November 1, 2013 to effectively ensure the conduct of scientific activities at the faculty.
An integral part of the work of the Research Laboratory is the development of research papers, in particular, in the period 2013-2016, the staff of the Research Laboratory conducted research under the codes of the papers “RSO”, “DIM”, ‘SPORUDA’, participated as a co-executor in the development of such papers as “SYSTEM ECO”, “POLIGON-AT”, etc. The priority areas of research at the Research Institute are the study of issues related to the improvement of forms and methods of employment of troops in modern local wars and armed conflicts, conducting research on practical solutions to current problems, taking into account the experience of the ATO, elimination of consequences of destruction (accidents) at potentially dangerous facilities, improvement of the system of logistics of troops (units), substantiation of promising ways of development (modernization) of weapons and military equipment, etc.
