The Faculty of Engineering and CBRN Troops was established in 2012 in accordance with the Directive of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine dated 23.04.12 №D-322/1/5DSK on the funds of the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi Army Academy and in accordance with the Deployment Plan for the training of military specialists, from September 1, 2012, it began training officers for the Army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Prior to that, officers for the engineering troops were trained at the Faculty of Military Training of the Kamianets-Podilskyi I. Ohienko National University.

The task of establishing the faculty was entrusted to an experienced officer - the head of the faculty of training specialists in the field of troops' support, Colonel Skrypnyk Serhii Viktorovych. In a short period of time, under his leadership, the Army Academy created a powerful educational and material base for training officers of engineering troops, created conditions for creative and physical development of cadets.

The training was carried out in two areas:
 - platoon commanders of engineering troops were trained in the specialty: “Management of actions of engineering units of troops and forces” with a training period of 4 years;

- commanders of engineering and technical and repair units of the engineering troops studied in the specialty: “Weapons and equipment of engineering troops” with a 5-year training period.

 Since 2013, the faculty has been headed by Colonel Mykhailo Ivasiuk, an officer with extensive experience in leading units and subunits of the engineering troops.

Since November 2017 (Order of the Chief of the General Staff-Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine No. 515 dated November 03, 2017), the faculty has been headed by Colonel Ihor Horchynskyi.

According to the results of state examinations in the period 2013-2023, 51 graduates of the faculty received a diploma with honors, in addition, 14 graduates received a diploma with honors and a gold medal.

Our cadets have repeatedly won scholarships from the National Army Academy.

Currently, 43 servicemen are passing on the experience gained during the Russian-Ukrainian war at the faculty.
