Educational work is a foundation of department’s activity and is directed to the training of highly skilled officers’ staff for units of branches and services of the Army of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and also to giving basic higher education to contract servicemen due to the direction of training. Educational and pedagogical workers of the department teach specialists of the artillery reconnaissance the disciplines — «Military topography», «Special chapters of higher mathematics (Applied mathematics in a branch)», «Topography and geodesy training», «Construction and exploitation of sound ranging systems», «Artillery reconnaissance», «Construction and exploitation of meteorological systems», «Construction and exploitation of counter-artillery radars systems and radar locators», «Combat application of artillery reconnaissance subunits». Besides, scientific and educational workers of the department teach the cadets of all specialities of the Army Academy “Military topography”, specialists of mechanized and tank subunits “Navigators”, specialists of field artillery “Artillery reconnaissance”, specialists of field artillery and rocket troops “Topography and geodesy training”, rocket men cadets “Meteorological training”, specialists of mechanized and tank troops, artillerymen, engineers, specialists of pedagogical work “Geographic information systems”.
