UN MILOB and CIMIC course (practical phase)

The course duration is 2 weeks (2 courses per year).

The course is designed to train battalion-brigade officers with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, who have experience in the international environment (holding relevant positions in national contingents), skills in working at the headquarters of the battalion/brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in multinational headquarters of the National Commission, and have some knowledge of the basics of the headquarters planning process, as well as knowledge of a foreign language (English) not lower than 2-2-2-2 in accordance with STANAG 6001. 

The aim of the course curriculum is to:
- to improve the professional skills of Special Forces officers, their ability to act in accordance with UN standards during a peacekeeping mission; 
- improve practical driving skills in accordance with UN standards;
- improving practical skills in working with topographic maps according to NATO/UN standards;
- Improving practical skills in working with radio communications of the leading countries of the world and GPS navigators;
- familiarization with the procedure of actions in case of entering a mined area; - improvement of practical skills in the rules of negotiation;
- study of relevant UN guiding documents (mandates, resolutions, etc.);
- studying the norms of international humanitarian law.

The course participants are expected to be sent to missions as UN military observers in the future.
