The course lasts for 1 week. The course is designed to train company-battalion officers with the rank of senior lieutenant or major who have the skills to work in the battalion headquarters (combined arms) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, have some knowledge of the basics of international humanitarian law, and have a foreign language (English) level of at least 2-2-1-1 in accordance with STANAG 6001.
The aim of the course curriculum is to:
- to familiarize with the UN doctrine;
- to familiarize with the concept of conducting non-classical military operations;
- to provide officers with the necessary knowledge of the theoretical foundations and practice of unit management in accordance with NATO standards;
- to improve the skills of officers as part of the battalion staff during the preparation and conduct of the OPS;
- train staff officers in the use of decision-making methods;
- to develop the ability to work with non-governmental organizations and the media in the ODA;
- foster a high staff culture, a sense of responsibility, and a creative attitude to solving troop management problems.
The course participants are expected to be appointed to officer positions in the peacekeeping contingent in the future.
