The Department of Military History was established in accordance with the directive of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the end of November 2022.
It is structurally part of the Faculty of Combat Use of Troops of the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Army Academy.
The main activities of the department are:
- educational activities;
- methodological activities;
- scientific, scientific and technical activities;
- organizational work;
- educational work;
- development and improvement of the educational and material base.
The first Head of the Department of Military History was Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Lieutenant Colonel Kutska O.M.
The Department consists of experienced research and teaching staff and graduates of the adjunct faculty of the National Army Academy, including: Doctor of Philosophy Major Sorokivska-Obikhod A.I., employees of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Trofymovych V.V., Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Plazova T.I., Candidate of Historical Sciences Kazan E.M.
