The department is an integral center of scientific activity of the entire educational institution. Thus, the Department has three academic staff members with academic degrees and academic titles, namely: Head of the Department, Colonel Volodymyr Kryvtsun - Candidate of Technical Sciences, Senior Researcher, Deputy Head of the Department, Lieutenant Colonel Maksym Kalenyk - Candidate of Technical Sciences, Senior Researcher, Senior Lecturer of the Department, Lieutenant Colonel Viacheslav Nagachevskyi - Candidate of Technical Sciences. Every year, thanks to the efforts of the department's academic staff, the volume of modern educational literature, including textbooks and manuals, is increasing. Last year alone, two parts of a textbook were published: “Machines of Engineering Armaments”, two parts of the textbook “Operation and Repair of Engineering Armaments”, and the textbook “Electrical Means of Engineering Armaments”. In addition, cadets are actively involved in scientific work, and a military scientific society group has been established. This activity is embodied in writing abstracts, participating in various competitions of scientific works of cadets and students, etc. The cadets' research papers under the guidance of the department's academic staff have repeatedly won prizes at various competitions. Teachers also take an active part in patenting, licensing, inventing and rationalizing with the involvement of the faculty's cadets, offering interesting and useful models that are later used in the educational process. For example, the company developed equipment for connecting the MRIV workshop to an external power source, manufactured a starter charger for battery-free starting of internal combustion engines, patented a method for increasing the stability of a single-axle trailer, and a device for automatically adjusting the distance of vehicles on a bridge crossing.
