MILITARY OFFICERS OF THE NATIONAL ARMY ACADEMY TAKE PART IN EVENTS ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE WESTERN UKRAINIAN PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC

On the day of the 106th anniversary of the establishment of the West Ukrainian People's Republic, they honored Ukrainian soldiers and prominent figures who fought for Ukraine's statehood at the beginning of the last century.

Together with the Head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration Maksym Kozytskyi, Acting Head of the Lviv Regional Council Yurii Kholod, Deputy Mayor of Lviv Liubomyr Zubach, representatives of the authorities, the community and the military of the Lviv garrison, representatives of the National Academy laid flowers at the Memorial to the Soldiers of the Ukrainian Galician Army at Lychakiv Cemetery. The participants also lit candles on the graves of prominent military, public and political figures of Ukraine Dmytro Vitovskyi, Mykhailo Halushchynskyi, Oleksandr Tysovskyi, Severiy Levytskyi, and laid flowers at the grave of the President of the Ukrainian People's Republic of Poland Yevhen Petrushevych.

“I sincerely thank everyone who took part in the commemoration, especially the military personnel of the honor guard company and the military orchestra of the National Army Academy,” said Lieutenant General Pavlo Tkachuk, Chief of the National Academy. - “The glorious pages of the Ukrainian statehood of the past undoubtedly remain a reliable basis for the defense and development of Ukraine today!”
