Methodological work at the Institute is aimed at improving the pedagogical skills of academic staff, cadet unit commanders, developing educational and methodological support for training sessions, testing new forms and methods of their conduct. The Department of Humanities introduced a new integrated course “History of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Army” which helps to broaden the cadets' outlook and increase the effectiveness of military-patriotic education by including a number of topics on the history of the Ukrainian army. New geopolitical realities are reflected in the course “Political Science”. The final year cadets majoring in Cultural Studies are writing their master's theses, the topics of which are closely related to the study of the ATO experience. The institute pays great attention to the development of scientific and methodological manuals that cover the experience of the ATO and provide practical recommendations for organizing moral and psychological support for combat operations. For example, the materials of the textbook “Primary Psychological Assistance and Rehabilitation in Combat Conditions” developed by the staff of the Department of Moral and Psychological Support of Troops will allow servicemen of the Army units to gain knowledge on the prevention of combat psychological trauma, and the provision of psychological assistance to servicemen in the course of combat operations. Special attention should be paid to the textbook “Psychology of Combat: Activities of a Unit Commander to Maintain the Moral and Psychological Condition of Personnel in Combat Operations”, authored by the Institute's academic staff who were direct participants in the hostilities in eastern Ukraine. In it, the authors have accumulated modern approaches to understanding the psychological characteristics of modern combat operations and their impact on the combat activities of military personnel, substantiated new forms, methods and means that can be used by the commander to maintain a stable moral and psychological state of personnel in various situations of combat activity. The Department of Musical Art has developed teaching aids and repertoire collections of musical works of the service and concert repertoire, which significantly enrich the repertoire of military musical units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations and serve to - to provide quality content for the cultural component of the military-patriotic education of servicemen and their social environment; - to enhance the potential of the musical art of military bands in shaping the morale of servicemen, units and subunits of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; - to preserve the traditions of army formations that have military bands in their composition; - to maintain and increase the authority of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the country and abroad as a powerful social institution of a stable state.
