Scientific work is one of the main activities and official duties of the scientific and pedagogical staff of the Institute's departments, the main means of achieving state quality standards for the training of military specialists with higher education and highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel. The main tasks of the Institute's scientific activity are
- conducting scientific research aimed at improving the combat capability of units and subunits of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, education and training of officers;
- participation in the training of highly qualified scientific and pedagogical staff and their certification;
- summarizing the achievements of foreign countries in the field of construction of military structures, conducting support activities during combat operations;
- development and publication of monographs, textbooks, manuals, software, as well as participation in the development of regulatory documents according to the plans of the Command of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
- organizing the work of military scientific societies of cadets;
- conducting inventive, rationalization and patent-licensing work by the permanent and variable staff of the Institute, aimed at improving the educational material and technical base, the quality of training and the rational use of training time.
The main efforts of the Institute's scientific activities are aimed at:
- development of practical recommendations for solving problematic issues of information and psychological confrontation during the ATO;
- development of forms and methods of training and use of troops (forces), improvement of operational (combat) support of their actions;
- development of the system of humanitarian, social, moral and psychological support;
- study of the main means, forms, methods and techniques of negative information and psychological influence and trends in its development;
- study of new types of psychological weapons and modern means of techno-psychological influence;
- determination of the peculiarities of the organization and conduct of information and psychological warfare by the Russian Federation against Ukraine and its Armed Forces during the preparation and conduct of the ATO and the annexation of Crimea;
- studying the peculiarities of organizing and conducting counter-propaganda work in the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the preparation and conduct of the ATO;
- development of principles, main directions of work of military mass media on protection of the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the population of Ukraine from negative information and psychological influence, the procedure for organizing and implementing protection from negative information and psychological influence at all levels of military command during the preparation and use of troops (forces).
The military scientific work of cadets is a separate type of scientific and scientific and technical activity carried out in the structural subdivisions of the Institute under the guidance of scientific and pedagogical staff. The main tasks of cadets' scientific work are
- deepening knowledge of military, technical and humanitarian sciences, improving the quality of studying academic disciplines;
- mastering modern methods and skills of conducting independent research and development of military and scientific topics with extensive use of mathematical modeling;
- development of skills in patent and license, inventive and rationalization work to improve weapons, military equipment and material and technical base;
- the need to constantly update and improve their knowledge;
- broadening the theoretical outlook and scientific erudition of the future military specialist and professional;
- identification of a reserve for training of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel from among gifted, capable cadets who have successfully completed the curriculum and program.
The scientific work of cadets at the Institute is carried out in close connection with the educational work as its integral continuation and corresponds to the tasks and directions of the research work of the departments. It is divided into research work that is part of the educational process and work that is performed outside of it. Cadets' research work also involves the development of initiative topics.
The scientific work of cadets, which is part of the educational process, is organized in the following forms
- fulfillment of planned tasks with elements of scientific research in the preparation of laboratory, course, certification works;
- performing specific atypical research tasks during military internships and annual internships;
- studying the theoretical foundations, methods, organization and execution of a scientific experiment and processing of research results.
The scientific work of cadets, which is carried out outside of class time, is organized in the following forms:
- work of cadets in the departmental circles of the military-scientific society of the institute, in creative workshops, studios, etc;
- participation of cadets in research works conducted at the departments;
- patent and license inventive and rationalization work;
- participation in competitions of the department, Institute, National Academy, inter-university competitions (forums) of scientific works of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, all-Ukrainian competitions of student scientific works, all-Ukrainian competitions held by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in specific specialties and disciplines.
The main forms of realization of scientific works of cadets are:
- models and their descriptions, attestation works, programs and algorithms for mathematical modeling, stands, operating devices, instruments, models;
- rationalization proposals, exhibits at exhibitions based on the results of scientific research;
- reports of the results of scientific work at meetings of the group, scientific seminars, conferences;
- abstracts and research papers submitted to the department, institute, National Academy, research papers competitions within the Ministry of Defense, and all-Ukrainian competitions of student research papers.
The military-scientific work of cadets is organized and conducted in the military-scientific society of the Institute, which includes 3 departmental groups with a total number of 44 cadets, namely
- moral and psychological support of troops 33 people
- Humanities - 6 persons;
- musical art - 5 people.
