The Department of Humanities at the National Army Academy is one of the youngest departments. On September 1, 2009, the Department began its functioning as a part of the Faculty of Training of Specialists in Military Support. The first Head of the Department was Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor M.M. Holyk. Since 2010, the Department was headed by Doctor of Philology, Professor O.L. Glotov. Since 2012, the Department has been headed by Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor A.I. Haruk. The Department's teachers have developed a thorough educational and material base, prepared a number of courses on topical issues of humanitarian knowledge. Since the establishment of the department, the academic staff, teaching and support staff and cadets of the faculty have been working fruitfully to create methodological and scientific support that meets modern requirements and standards. The department organizes meetings of the Academy's cadets with alumni who share their experience and give guidance to future officers. The main purpose of the department is to equip cadets with a thorough knowledge of humanitarian and socio-economic disciplines. Кhe department is now a powerful scientific and methodological link in the educational process at the Academy. The department's faculty members are actively developing issues of military history, terminology and other issues relevant to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The department also trains masters in the specialty “Cultural Studies”, which is a promising area in the military education system. The first graduates of the department.

Lieutenant Anastasia Demyanova, 23 years old, graduated from the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi Army Academy in February 2015, Faculty of Training of Specialists in Troop Support, She majored in cultural studies.
