Briefly about the Department of Humanities

The Department of Humanities is a close-knit team of scholars who teach humanities disciplines and conduct research in the field of humanities. The main purpose of the department is to equip cadets with thorough knowledge of the humanities and socio-economic disciplines. Since its establishment, the department's academic and teaching staff have been actively working to create an educational and material base that meets modern requirements and standards. The department works under the slogan “omnia in nomine homini”, which means “in the name of man”. The mission of the department is to ensure the formation of a future officer as a fully developed personality who is aware of his role in society, to provide knowledge of the humanities in the system of human-world relations. Quote from the head: “Ad fontes! To the sources - humanity, creativity, thinking. To know a person is to know the world.” It is the complex of human sciences that plays an essential role in the patriotic education of future officers, develops the ability to think, and has an important nation-building function. The department organizes scientific conferences on topical issues of the past and present. The department's scholars have numerous publications both in Ukraine and abroad. The Department has an active school of military history, which develops new aspects of the history of the Ukrainian army.

Perspective tasks set by the staff of the department: To ensure the unity of education and upbringing. Ensure military and professional orientation of education and humanitarian development of the future officer's personality. To stimulate the intellectual development of cadets and their thinking through the acquisition of modern methods and means of scientific knowledge. Publishing textbooks, lecture courses, updating and adjusting methodological support in accordance with modern requirements. Further introduction of computer technologies and improvement of the educational and material base. Interaction with the Department of Moral and Psychological Support of Troops in conducting pedagogical experiments and with other departments to establish interdisciplinary links.
