First, the officers, sergeants and cadets of the National Army Academy honored their fallen comrades at the monument dedicated to the fallen graduates and servicemen of the educational institution.
A prayer for the fallen heroes was said by the Academy's military chaplain, Father Andriy Khomyshyn, and all those present honored their fallen comrades with a minute of silence. Flowers were laid to the Stela of the Fallen Heroes to the accompaniment of a military band, and the joint performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine became a moment of unity and pride for our country.
On the occasion of the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Head of the National Academy, Lieutenant General Pavlo Tkachuk, presented the best servicemen and employees of the National Academy with state and departmental awards for their dedication, courage and professionalism, which they demonstrate every day, bringing our Victory closer.
A special event was the presentation of a motivational standard to the newly created Institute of Missile Forces and Artillery. This symbol is intended to remind them of their responsibility to the people of Ukraine and to inspire new achievements in the training of highly professional artillery officers.
Subsequently, the Academy's personnel took part in the celebrations on the occasion of the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on one of the central squares of Lviv near the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
The solemn raising of the flag of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the sound of the March of the New Army became a symbol of strength, steadfastness and unity. Danylo Bolbov, a cadet of the National Army Academy, a combatant awarded the Order for Courage, III class, was honored to raise the flag.
The events continued with a commemoration of the cherished memory of Ukraine's defenders who are buried in the fields of honor at Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv.
In addition, on the occasion of the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the Day of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, a Bishop's Divine Liturgy was held at the Garrison Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.
