In accordance with the requirements of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 467 of 13.05.2009, the Department of Electromechanics and Electronics was established at the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi Army Academy and became part of the Faculty of Missile Forces and Artillery. From the date of its establishment to the present, the department has been headed by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Yurii Shabatura. During the period of its existence, the department has developed from a small team, whose staff consisted of 5 research and teaching staff, to today's powerful department not only on the scale of the Academy, but also among the leading universities in Lviv. Currently, the department is one of the most powerful departments of the Academy in terms of its scientific and pedagogical potential. The department has 5 Doctors of Technical Sciences, 2 Doctors of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, 7 Candidates of Technical Sciences, 5 Candidates of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, and one Candidate of Biological Sciences, including 3 professors, 7 associate professors, and 3 senior researchers. The scientific and pedagogical potential of the department has always provided and continues to provide highly professional teaching of academic disciplines, the number and list of which has changed dynamically over the years. Classes at the department are conducted using modern teaching technologies. The department pays great attention to the development of the material and technical base of the department. Thanks to the hard work, enthusiasm and creativity of the academic and engineering staff, the department now has 8 specialized educational and research laboratories that are technically well equipped in accordance with their intended purpose, and among their equipment there are many unique devices and installations. List of specialized educational and scientific laboratories of the EME Department: 1. Laboratory of Physics of Mechanics and Optical Research 2. Laboratory of Materials Science and Analytical Research 3. Laboratory of Chemistry of Powders and Explosives 4. Laboratory of Physics of Electrical and Electromagnetic Research 5. Laboratory of General and Inorganic Chemistry and Hydraulics 6. Laboratory of Electromechanics 7. Laboratory of Electrical Engineering 8. Laboratory of electronics and electrical measurements In addition to educational work and educational and methodological work, the department conducts research. The main direction of the department's research is scientific support for the creation of new and modernization of existing complexes, systems, models of weapons and military equipment and the development of proposals for requirements for components of weapons and military equipment. To solve a wide range of scientific problems that arise within the main scientific direction, the scientists of the department conduct research in specialized areas: - development of the basics of theory and practical aspects of building information and measurement systems with time representation of measurement information; - development of the theory and principles of construction of magnetic and hydrodynamic systems for separation of liquid substances; - creation and experimental study of new control systems for ground vehicles; - modeling of processes in the plasma of gas discharge in gas mixtures (corona discharge, barrier discharge); - modeling of plasma-chemical processes in devices for separation and analysis of gas (gas-vapor) mixtures; - experimental studies of corona discharge pulsation processes in order to create a new type of microgas analyzers and separators; - studies of processes in electric drives of rocket and artillery weapons; - physical foundations of jet propulsion; - studies of processes in hydraulic (pneumatic) drives using application software packages; - development of mathematical models of electric machines in application software packages; - application of the theory of functional stability for the study and creation of complex dynamic systems; - study of processes in automatic missile and artillery systems; - experimental research and development of composite materials based on binders in construction. With the support of the Academy's management, the department's academic staff and with the active participation of the department's engineering and technical staff, specialized laboratories in chemistry, physics, electronics, control systems, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic drives, microprocessor technology, and materials science are being actively created and implemented in the educational process.
