In the course of their daily work, the staff of the department directs considerable efforts to maintain the proper moral and psychological state of the personnel, a sense of pride in their homeland and chosen profession. They foster high motivation and a strong desire to master the military profession and perform assigned tasks responsibly. By their personal example, the instructors educate future officers to be responsible, self-confident, and capable of performing their tasks in various conditions of the environment.

Special attention in the education of future officers is paid to the organization of supervisory work. Officers-supervisors regularly participate in summarizing the results of cadet groups, general meetings of the unit, hold conversations with the personnel on various topics, and attend performances, museums, and cultural events in Lviv together with the cadets in their free days. Every day, the first few minutes of classes are devoted to informing cadets about the latest developments in the country and the world, decisions of the state leadership and the Armed Forces of Ukraine on countering modern challenges and threats, etc. Considerable attention is also paid to the military-patriotic education of the personnel by highlighting the heroic deeds of officers - graduates of the faculty and the National Academy, meetings with ATO and JFO participants. It has become a good tradition to invite veterans of armed conflicts, engineering troops and academic staff of the department to hold thematic evenings on the occasion of professional and national holidays. The Museum of the National Army Academy has an exhibition dedicated to the history and modernity of the Department of Engineering.
