The Department of Engineering Technology trains specialists in the following specialties: Future officers of the engineering troops, while studying at the department, acquire in-depth knowledge of the following specialized disciplines: “Engineering Armament Machines”, “Operation and Repair of Engineering Armament”, “Power Supply of Units and Electrical Equipment”, “Organization of Operation and Repair of Engineering Armament”, “Economics of Military Equipment Operation”, “Organization of Safe Operation of Lifting Machines and Electrical Installations”, “Fundamentals of Engineering Armament Application”, “Fundamentals of Engineering Armament Machine Design”, “Technical Support”, and “Engineering and Technical Support”. The emphasis is placed on providing cadets with practical skills in engineering technology based on the deep theoretical knowledge of future officers. For this purpose, the academic staff of the department widely use the experience gained in the JFO and ATO area in their educational activities, preferring to conduct practical classes using real samples of weapons and military equipment. During the classes of the department's disciplines, the structure and procedure for the use of more than 50 units of the main models of engineering weapons are studied, in particular - engineering reconnaissance means, means of overcoming minefields, means of overcoming destruction, ferrying and landing craft, means of mechanization of minefields, mechanization of earthmoving operations, camouflage equipment, field water supply equipment, general-purpose equipment (lifting machines and lifting and transport mechanisms, repair and maintenance equipment, sawmills and logging equipment), electrical equipment. The main models of engineering weapons are: IRM-2 engineering reconnaissance vehicle, TMM-3M1 heavy mechanized bridge, UR-77 demining unit, PTS-2 floating conveyor, PMP-M pontoon fleet, PMM-2M ferry bridge machine, GMZ-3 tracked mine fence, BAT-2 road paver, MDK-3 pit digging machine BGM-1 drilling and soil machine, IMR-2M engineering barrier machine, VFS-10 military filtration station, MRIV-1 engineering weapons repair shop, truck cranes of various capacities, LRV-1 sawmill, power, lighting, charging and engineering power plants, etc. In order to learn more about the structure of engineering weapons at the Department of Automotive Training, cadets study the structure of the main basic vehicles on which samples of engineering weapons are created. After the cadets have mastered a certain part of the training program, repair (production) practice is planned and carried out at repair enterprises and military units in working positions, as well as military internships, where cadets perform the duties of commanders of engineering units and gain experience in repairing and maintaining engineering weapons, as well as experience in managing personnel and performing assigned tasks.
