In order to educate future officers of the engineering troops, meetings are traditionally held between cadets and school students to get to know each other and establish patronage relations. It has become a good tradition to invite war veterans, participants of the Joint Forces Operation (ATO) of the engineering troops, and the department's academic staff to hold themed evenings on the occasion of professional and national holidays.

For the staff of the department, the main focus of educational work with cadets is to preserve life and health and create safe conditions for all types of classes, both in classrooms and during practical training in the training fields, especially when working with explosives and toxic substances. Maintaining a healthy moral and psychological climate among the department's staff and cadets, fostering exemplary behavior and responsibility in the performance of official duties and personal behavior outside of service is achieved through the activities of the department's pedagogical council, organization of round tables and individual educational work.

An important component of the process of forming the moral and business qualities of future officers is the transfer of combat experience gained by the department's graduates who are participants in the Joint Forces Operation in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine during meetings with personnel.
