The methodological work is aimed at improving the educational process of training cadets. On a monthly basis, academic staff actively participate in scientific and methodological seminars and meetings, meetings of the Academic Councils of the Faculty and the Academy, and meetings of the Department to discuss ways to improve cadet training, review best practices and achievements of the Department's faculty.

The basis for the development of practical skills and commanding qualities in students is deep theoretical knowledge acquired during lectures, seminars, group and practical classes, all types of internships, as well as during independent work with educational literature. An important component of the methodological work at the department is the delivery of lectures, reports, and presentations on teaching methods, general and military pedagogy, and psychology. Such classes are problematic in nature, and their content is closely related to the training of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the OSS, which are conducted by the Head of the Department Colonel D.A. Okipnyak, Deputy Head of the Department Lieutenant Colonel R.L. Kolos and Professor of the Department Colonel R.V. Kazmirchuk. Lieutenant Colonel Matveev H.A., Lieutenant Colonel Malyuk V.M. and Lieutenant Colonel Brychynskyi O.V., and Armed Forces of Ukraine employee Neshchadin O.V. took advanced training courses on the organization and use of distance learning technologies in the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the Ivan Chernyakhovsky National Defense University of Ukraine. One of the important factors influencing the quality and completeness of cadets' training is the department's textbooks and electronic textbooks: "Explosive business. Part I. Part III. Means for blasting, destruction (neutralization) of explosive objects, simulation of artillery fire, air strikes and engineering barriers“, ”Engineering support of combat according to NATO standards“, ”Engineering support of combat according to NATO standards", Explosives. Part IV. Collection of Calculations and Methodological Recommendations for Organizing and Conducting Training", etc. One of the important areas of methodological work at the department is international cooperation.
