The Department of Ground Artillery is a basic structural subdivision of the Faculty of Missile Forces and Artillery, which conducts educational and methodological activities in the specialty “Management of Artillery Units” and carries out educational, scientific, research and scientific and technical activities in the field of knowledge “Military Sciences, National Security, State Border Security”. The activities of the Department of Ground Artillery are organized and carried out in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine, regulations of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The purpose of the department is to train highly qualified tactical officers who are competent in specific issues of military management of platoon and battery units and are capable of performing assigned tasks. The department conducts advanced training courses for artillery officers on the combat use of BZ-A artillery units, tactical-level command courses for ground artillery L-1C of the Army. Since the beginning of the full-scale aggression in March 2022, the department has been playing a leading role in training officers called up for military service under contract from the reserve and officers of military units that are restoring combat capability. Experienced scientific and pedagogical staff, including 2 PhDs, are involved in teaching disciplines: 1. Professor of the Department, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, employee of the Armed Forces of Ukraine I.M. Flys All teachers of the Department of Ground Artillery are participants in combat operations. The department constantly monitors changes in the requirements for the use of ground artillery units based on the experience of the Russian-Ukrainian war, which in turn leads to changes in the training of cadets. The tasks of the department are fulfilled through the integration of training and practice, the full and effective application of all elements of the educational process, taking into account the capabilities of modern information technology.
