The Faculty of Combat Use of Troops was established in 2005 on the basis of the Directive of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine D/322/1/014 of June 30, 2005. The faculty trained military specialists in the specialty:

“Control of actions of the Army units” started in 2006, in the following specializations: “Control of actions of units of mechanized troops”, ‘Control of actions of units of tank troops’ and ‘Physical education and sports’.

In addition, over the years, the faculty has also trained cadets:

- from 2006 to 2010 - specialists of airborne troops and intelligence; - from 2012 to 2013 - cadets of the specialty “Arms and Military Equipment” with a specialization in “Operation and repair of armored vehicles and weapons”.

At the same time, in 2012, the training of cadets in the specialization “Physical Training in the Troops (Forces)” was discontinued.

Since the establishment of the faculty, it has been headed by Colonel Dmytro Mintyukov, Colonel Pavlo Synyshyn, Colonel Vasyl Osypchuk, and Colonel Artur Lunkov (PhD in History, Associate Professor). Today, Colonel Oleksandr Tymoshchuk (participant in the anti-terrorist operation, Knight of the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, III class) is the head of the Faculty of Combat Use of Troops.

The faculty provides high quality training for military specialists. Graduates with solid knowledge, leadership skills, and a broad outlook are in demand not only by customers in the Armed Forces, but also by representatives of other law enforcement agencies of Ukraine.

The high level of professionalism of the faculty's graduates is evidenced by the fact that during the Anti-Terrorist Operation and the Joint Forces Operation, more than 250 officers were awarded high state honors and awards, nine of them with the highest state honor - the title of Hero of Ukraine.
