The Department of Musical Art at the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Army Academy has been in existence for over 20 years and is the only one in Ukraine that trains military specialists for the Armed Forces, Internal Troops, Security Service, State Border Guard Service and other military formations of Ukraine. The training is carried out in the specialty “Musical Art”, specialization “Conducting military bands (song and dance ensembles), orchestral wind and percussion instruments”. The department is a graduating department for this specialty. Graduates of the Department have repeatedly been honored at prestigious international festivals of military music around the world, for example, in the Netherlands (Heerlen), Denmark (Aabenraa), Germany (Berlin), France (Albertville), Italy (Modena), Poland (Krakow) and other countries, asserting the cultural heritage of our country at the international level. Thus, the department has created a modern system of training military conductors based on the historical traditions of Ukrainian military music, national musical culture and the best examples of world musical culture, the preservation of which determines the importance of further strategic and educational concept at the National Army Academy named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi.
