The diving club at the Department of Specialized Engineering Disciplines is a separate type of educational and cognitive activity. The head of the group has extensive practical experience gained in the course of performing tasks during central diving training camps, diving descents, performing tasks to eliminate the consequences of emergencies, etc. |
In the course of mastering the theoretical component of diving training, the main, most complex issues of the educational material are considered, fundamental views on the performance of engineering support tasks underwater, the main ways and methods of their solution are formed. Active (active-search), problem-based and demonstrative (showing training videos) teaching methods are used. Such classes are held in a specialized classroom of the department with extensive use of technical teaching aids. Practical diving training classes are conducted at the diving training complex with the involvement of diving instructors as assistant instructors. Prior to each practical training session, instruction and testing of knowledge of safety measures for underwater behavior is conducted. Only cadets who have been recognized as fit for medical reasons by a medical commission, have undergone training dives to a depth of 20 m in a recompression chamber, and have mastered the theoretical material and safety measures during diving operations are allowed to practice diving. All tasks during practical dives are practiced in open water with a depth of 6 meters.
