In order to provide quality training for future military specialists, the department's academic staff skillfully combines educational, methodological and scientific activities. Scientific and practical conferences and seminars, instructional and methodological, demonstration and open classes are held. An important component of the training of future military conductors is the formation of leadership and professional qualities and methodological skills in organizing the creative activity of military musical units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The academic staff of the Department uses modern methods of teaching and upbringing of cadets, advanced creative ideas of the leading military conductors of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and leading conductors of the world. The Department trains future military conductors in 21 academic disciplines, the basis of which is individual classes. The academic staff of the department has developed programs and work programs of academic disciplines, structural and logical schemes, methodological support for academic disciplines. The academic staff of the department has established constructive cooperation with scholars of the Mykola Lysenko Lviv National Music Academy, the Lviv Regional Philharmonic, the Department of Culture of the Lviv Regional State Administration, the Music College in Gdansk (Poland), the School of Musicians and Conductors in Dusseldorf (Germany), and Cape Girardeau University (USA). The cadets gain extensive experience in conducting, performing at international festivals of military bands (2012, Aabenraa, Denmark).
